Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the ICBAE Conference must follow the conference author guidelines and formatting template. Submissions that do not comply with the required format, are incomplete, fall outside the conference scope, or cannot be properly accessed may be returned to the authors or rejected before entering the review stage. Each manuscript must be an original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere. The peer review process for ICBAE is conducted as follows:
Initial Screening
After submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial assessment by the conference editorial or scientific committee. At this stage, the paper is checked for relevance to the conference themes, originality, basic academic quality, and compliance with submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these standards may be rejected without being sent for full review.
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. ICBAE applies a double-anonymous peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure an objective and fair evaluation. Reviewers are selected based on their academic background and subject match with the manuscript.
Review Stage
During the review process, reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the conference theme, and contribution to theory or practice. Each reviewer provides comments and a recommendation, which may include: acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with major revisions, or rejection.
Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the conference editors or scientific committee make a decision on the manuscript. The decision may be to accept the paper, request revisions, or reject the submission. If revision is required, authors will be asked to improve the manuscript and resubmit it within the specified timeline.
Revision and Resubmission
Authors who receive revision requests are expected to revise their manuscripts carefully and address the reviewers’ comments point by point. The revised paper may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation, or the editors may assess the revisions directly, depending on the extent of the required changes.
Final Decision
After the revised manuscript is evaluated, the final decision is made by the conference editors or scientific committee. Accepted papers will proceed to the next stage of conference processing, subject to the conference’s academic and publication policies. The final result will be communicated to the authors in due course.
Publication Plotting
After a manuscript is accepted, the conference committee conducts a publication plotting process to determine the most appropriate publication outlet for the paper. In this stage, manuscripts are evaluated based on their academic quality, thematic fit, scope alignment, and publication requirements. Based on this assessment, selected papers may be recommended for publication in either Springer Proceedings in Business and Economics or Atlantis Proceedings. The final placement decision is made by the conference committee in accordance with the standards and editorial considerations of each publication outlet.
